Meet Adam and Rebecca, the husband-and-wife team behind Norton Plumbing: from a Canberra apprenticeship to Sydney high-rises to family life in Coogee.

Behind Norton Plumbing is Adam and Rebecca, a husband-and-wife team raising a young family while running the business together. We live in Coogee now, with our two-year-old daughter, Amelia. But getting here took a few turns: an apprenticeship in Canberra, a career on Sydney's high-rises, and a jump from corporate marketing into a plumbing business neither of us expected.

Adam: from a Canberra apprenticeship to Sydney's high-rises

Adam started his plumbing apprenticeship in Canberra around 20 years ago, and it's where he got his licence. From there he moved to Sydney and joined Macpherson Plumbing, one of the city's largest Tier 1 commercial plumbing companies, working on high-rise residential buildings across multiple levels. He worked his way up to plumbing foreman, running crews on some of Sydney's biggest multi-level residential builds.

Eventually, Adam decided to branch out on his own. Norton Plumbing started small in 2019, and Adam has spent the years since building up a client list here in the Eastern Suburbs, one job and one referral at a time.

Rebecca: from corporate marketing to the family business

Rebecca's background is in marketing and communications, built over a career in corporate roles. She joined Norton Plumbing this year, leaving that corporate world to support Adam and the growing business full-time. Rebecca now looks after marketing and the parts of the business that keep customers looked after: the phone, the scheduling, the follow-up.

Home in the Eastern Suburbs

We've called the Eastern Suburbs home for more than a decade, living in Bondi, then Bellevue Hill, and now Coogee, where we're raising Amelia. Living locally means we know these streets, buildings and local businesses well.
