The Puretec FilterWall is a two-stage system. Stage 1 is a pleated sediment cartridge (5-micron) that catches sand, rust, silt and pipe-shed particles common in older Eastern Suburbs homes. Stage 2 is an activated carbon block that removes chlorine taste and odour, plus chemical residues like pesticides and trace VOCs. It does not soften hard water. That's a different system.

Cartridge life depends on your water and household size. As a guide: the Stage 1 sediment cartridge needs replacing every 6-12 months (sooner if water is visibly dirty or after mainline work), and the Stage 2 carbon cartridge every 12-15 months. The housing is a registered design (slimline grey or white) so it sits flush against fences or garage walls.
